Well, back again after few weeks of hell.. alright i admit this sem was siong.. much more than the previous ones.. just had my last exam yesterday.. it was as if i had my last testimonial match.. no more exams in uni lo.. woohoo.. unless Brian decides to fail me due to too much crap which i wrote.. ahahaha..i'm just so glad everything is over (except for fyp)..
First highlight of school was the arrival of Prof Ray Winger.. he really did instill fear (some) when he came back as he is one person you cannot smoke through due to his extensive knowledge..the practical carried out with a protocol was not as bad as outfield in army but i have never done a practical that was so long.. approximately 8 to 9 hours.. phew.. really did learnt a lot from the entire exercise.
Prof Winger is really a genius!! he might seem like a person with a iron rod in his hand but actually he's a nice chap la.. i did give him names such as stingray (newton's circus' one is nice.) that time but i take that back now because he's such a respected person. After his debrief, really felt quite sad for him. Since he was the only real true blue professor specializing in food technology, he was like so called the scapegoat to be the simulated Gordon Ramsey and be as unfriendly, serious, stern and grumpy more than the usual person..
Many students in NZ might just see his simulated side because he said he did fail them before.. but they did not see the better side of him which was how he put himself in the hot seat to educate us to be better future food technologists. Some did, fortunately and i am sure they learnt a great deal just like what we did.
What he say really strucked me.. it's not about how smart you are.. it's about the attitude.. he also said that the difference between us and him is just the experience and we pretty much know the same stuffs.. a great level of humility is being displayed here.. reminds me of my rugby captain who urges us to teach others and be humble so that we will grow together as a team..
He also said that making mistakes is okay because it is through mistakes, we learn.. and i am glad i made so much mistakes during the pilot plant experiment and that made me learn as the memories are deeply etched in my brain.. i am really glad that our lives are touched by him and he indeed made a difference by imparting what he knows unto us..

pic of prof Ray Winger which i found on google.. haha!!
kudos and all the best to him!! although we might not see him again but i just hope his newly set up company will be a success in UK.. =D
