yoohoo.. finally POPed the day before as a private.. there was a slight drizzle on that day and i thought the parade was going to be cancelled.. luckily it stopped and it was kinda a cool affair whereby we got to march in front of all our parents.. well, my dad came with my sis and she says all soldiers are smelly.. i took my helmet which i didn't wash for like don't know how many weeks and put onto her head.. HAHA.. it was a fun but yet solemn affair as well.. although it's like a graduation but somehow there was still some kind of sadness in it, unfortunately..
9 weeks on a little island was not easy.. when we're used to living there, we're kinda forced to leave for another place, not knowing for the better or the worse.. our sirs and sergeants were all gleaming with smiles on their faces as we're graduating.. it's like we're their students and they're the ones that taught us everything.. i wouldn't say all of them are completely happy.. i could sense a tinge of sadness in them.. after training us for 2 months, we're leaving for another place..
well, i got yet another medal.. third in tug-o-war.. though it wasn't first but we gave our best already.. we won 3 out of our 4 matches la.. lost one of the group matches to the 100+kg people from eagle company.. =/ nevertheless, we're the underdogs and lightest amongst the top 3 and people really look up to us and respect us for the feat we've performed..

pic of the bronze.. =)
after my POP, my army mates wanted to go clubbing so i tagged along as i haven't been to one before.. hm.. what can i say about my debut clubbing experience?? 7 botaks treading around in the club was very funny la.. i knew people laughed at us but we just heck them as we came to enjoy..
it's fun la.. fun to be dancing around as it can help to lose a bit of weight la.. i realise i still like dancing a lot after learning a bit the other time.. just that can't really do it very well.. drinking different weird drinks and the music were very cool as well..
done with the pros and here comes the cons.. firstly, it's dam smoky in there.. dammit.. so bad that i almost asked the bar for a oxygen mask and tank.. i thought they said there's no smoking in air conditioned areas? even some areas of kopitiam also cannot smoke lo.. and those people holding on to cigarettes while dancing are idiots.. what if people around are hurt.. especially botak people.. we wouldn't want to have dots on heads.. =/
secondly, now i know why guys love to go clubbing so much le.. especially on ladies night.. was so shocked at what my friends did.. dammit.. they held on to the girls while dancing.. it's like after dancing a while, their hands just touch here and there.. i was like WTF.. eh, how come the girls never retaliate one ar? like take hammer and knock them on the head or something? i didn't approve of that la.. didn't stop my friends as the girls didn't even care so why should i bother.. i'm just glad i didn't do it and no wonder my friends kept laughing at me.. because i wasn't doing what they were doing and i was as if the only idiot who didn't do it.. it seemed like i was dancing with myself in the air.. =/
lastly, i didn't know people can be so crazy when they club.. we were dancing near a group of gals then there was this group of guys who came dancing and wanna bump us away.. i knew what they were up to and i stood there and danced with much brute force and strength with my friends and they were bumped away by us instead.. HAHA.. other than that there are so many people kissing around and it's like so weird while you're dancing.. i mean these peeps can carry on with what you're doing but they should not be so engrossed til they hit my head so many times with their hands.. i know my head's pretty round but they should just watch it la.. i got hit quite a number of times other than this incident as well.. but i didn't know who did it as there were too many hands..
it was so squeezy that night and i got lost a couple of times.. couldn't find my friends at all.. message and call also nobody reply.. but fortunately found them after squeezing myself through waves of people.. i must say having big shoulders help open the way and everyone will like siam and let you through.. just like playing rugby.. haha.. that was the first time i was in so close contact with that many girls.. surprised that they still smelt nice instead of smelly after dancing for so long.. especially the hair.. cool..
the whole thingy ended at 4.. close shop.. after the lights were turned on, my friend told me got a lot of 'ghosts'.. HAHA.. so mean.. he was refering to girls that look ok under the bright lights but when real lights are turned on, they look weird.. damn funny.. my friends also say they saw transvetites around.. imagine this.. my friends dancing with transvetites and touching them.. haha.. =p
and i'm not done yet.. i didn't know girls can be so crazy.. one of my friend's friend had a drop too many and she kept saying she wanted to go toilet and eat supper.. then i asked how to spell supper, she spelt super.. -_- after that she just went around strangling people, smacking them and after while she fell to the floor as well.. all i can say is that if cannot drink don't drink so much.. because girl's image (xing xiang) important la.. drink til liddat image all gone sia.. =/
actually wanna go eat supper 1.. but all my friends seh already.. say wanna go home.. =/ we only drank a bit.. 2 cups of that vodka lime, 2 ribena vodka and a few e-33 beer bottles.. my friends were seasonal clubbers except me but i am not seh but they very groggy.. i wonder what happened to them.. maybe the POP parade was tiring after all.. after that shared cab with one of my army buddies and home sweet home i went..
in all, it's fun i must admit but it's also a not-so-me activity at the same time.. i most probably won't be going there that often.. but maybe i should also try going with different groups of friends to see if it's still the same.. because it's my first time there and i went with my army friends so maybe it's not the same if i were to go again with different company of peeps..
reached home at 5am yesterday and woke up at 10 to send mr jianming to tekong.. went to see his bunk, see him say the oath and stuff.. it's like deja vu.. i did all these before.. kinda weird as i came to experience this as a civillian instead of a soldier.. his aunt teared a bit but i assured her it's all gonna be alright.. i said i still came back in a piece after 2 months.. HAHA.. other than that, jiajun and matthew are also enlisting that day.. hope they are doing fine and i told them if they ever needed my help on anything, they could just call me..
today, i've just realised that i've got not that much friends.. most of them got enlisted and now while i've POPed and it's time to celebrate.. i don't know who i could go out with.. maybe i should have just stayed inside for a longer period of time.. =(
nevertheless, i gotta thank the following people for making my stay in tekong so enjoyable..
