i'm sure by the time i posted this, everyone would have known the result.. Portugal edged out Holland 1-0.. as predicted.. my favourite team on their way to world cup glory and it's the first time they're in the top 8 since 40 years ago when they were knocked out in the semi-finals.. though the Portuguese egg Tart savoured moments of victory, their journey to winning the cup is still a arduous road ahead..
well, the next opponent they'll be facing would be england.. well, it's not that i'm afraid that england would be too strong for them but some of the portuguese key players would not get to play.. =(
though they won yesterday, there was a huge price to pay after the exciting battle.. thanks to the dutch.. costinha, deco would not be able to play the next game due to obtaining red cards.. the 1 costinha got was justifiable as he did something dumb such as using his hand to block the ball.. =/ however, on deco's case, he didn't actually deserve one of the yellow cards that led to a red card..
this is actually what happened.. one of the portuguese defenders were injured and the portuguese were still attacking so the ref blowed the whistle so the ball had to go out for treatment to take place.. so when the ball is restarted, the dutch were supposed to give the ball back to the portuguese as the ball was in their possession earlier on but they DID NOT.. instead they continued to attack the open defence as everyone in the portuguese squad thought they would give the ball back as it was only having sportsmanship..
what a cheat.. no sportsmanship.. i thought the motto of this world cup is called " a time to make friends" when the dutch was one goal down, the values of all the beautiful game were all thrown in the sewers.. shame on them.. what comes around indeed goes around.. because they also had 2 players who had red cards too.. and they were sent packing home to plant oranges and produce condensed milk for dutch lady brand!! HAHA.. =p
